I have created a static website and i'm using front door with a custom domain. My generated hostname displays the site but my custom domain doesn't. I have configured it and added the CNAME in my dns provider.

    Hi Stefanos Tzavaras,

    Greetings!

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.

I can assist you to not seeing your static website on your custom domain via Front Door.

Here are some reasons why maybe your custom domain is not working:

    Front Door Configuration:

Make sure you have set up Front Door correctly to use your custom domain. Ensure your custom domain has been ingested into Front Door and that the routing rules are configured accordingly.

    • Check that the custom domain name whether added the custom domain route or not.
    • Check whether the custom domain associated to any Azure frontdoor endpoint or not.

    CNAME Record:

Check in the Custom domains section of Front Door that your CNAME record matches up with the one you created with your DNS provider.

    • Check the status of DNS propagation in Front Door to ensure that the record for the CNAME has propagated correctly.
    • Check the Cname sip.

    Front door logs:

Analyze the Front Door logs for issues with your custom domain to find errors. Go to Logs blade in Front Door and access the logs.

    DNS Provider:

You should also verify that the CNAME record is properly set up using your DNS provider. To find out if the CNAME record has propagated, you can look into your DNS provider status page or use utilities such as dig or nslookup. In consideration of the aforementioned problems, I recommend:

Examine the Front Door logs: Look at the Front Door logs for an error or issue related to your custom domain. Verify DNS Propagation One may use a dig or nslookup tool to see if the CNAME has propagated properly.

If the issue persists, please provide me with more details about your Front Door configuration, your DNS provider and the custom domain, and I'll be happy to take it further for you.

Looking forward to your response and appreciate your time on this.

    Regards,

    Ganesh
