Hello everyone,

I was upgrading my server from Windows 2019 to Windows 2022, my data drive is on an ISCSI, when I transferred the ISCSI disks to Windows 2022, it is showing as Foreign "Dynamic". My questions are:
1 - why does is say Dynamic now, when it was a Basic Disk?
2 - if I do Import Foreign Disks, will I lose my files?

Appreciate some thoughts and inputs.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

    To answer your question here:

1.Why does is say Dynamic now, when it was a Basic Disk?

A: As there are some differences for different OS to handle disk configuration, it could be considered as a dynamic disk.

2.If I do Import Foreign Disks, will I lose my files?

A: Meanwhile, normally Importing foreign disks will not lead to a data loss.

I hope the information above is helpful.
