Issues with Microsoft Authenticator App Notifications and Accessing Outlook

The Microsoft Authenticator app was activated yesterday. During the process, there was a loss of internet connection for the entire day. An account was created, but the step to enable notifications was not reached. Today, while trying to access Outlook for school purposes, a number was displayed. However, when checking the authenticator app, no notifications appeared, nor was there an option to insert the number. Despite multiple attempts, only the number is shown, indicating to check the authenticator app, but no notifications are being received. The notification settings have been reset. What steps can be taken to move forward??

    Hi there,

    I recently faced a similar issue where notifications for number authentication were not appearing. Here’s the process I followed to resolve it:

    1. First, I deleted my account from the Authenticator app.
    2. Then, I accessed the Microsoft 365 Entra Center, navigated to All Users, and selected the relevant user.
    3. In the left-hand pane, I clicked on Authentication Methods and chose the option to Require re-register multifactor authentication.

    After completing these steps, when you log in to your account, you’ll be prompted to set up the Authenticator app again. Simply follow the process and scan the QR code provided during the setup.

    Once done, the issue should be resolved, and everything will work as expected.
