Recently set up SCOM 2022 and deployed agents to all servers.

Is there a way to use SCOM to identify which Hyper-V host servers are present in the environment?

    Hi,

Yes, you can use SCOM 2022 to identify Hyper-V host servers in your environment.

Here are the steps to achieve this:

    • Go to the Monitoring pane.
    • Expand Microsoft Windows Hyper-V.
    • You should see a list of discovered Hyper-V hosts and their associated virtual machines.

    Use PowerShell for Additional Discovery:

    • You can use PowerShell scripts to query the registry of virtual machines to find their host names. For example, the host name is stored in each VM under the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Virtual Machine\Guest\Parameters\HostName.
