How can I Uninstall the Company Portal "App" with AVDs - Microsoft Entra Joined

Dear Experts,

We are using, the Microsoft Entra Joined based AVD's. AVD's with Operating system as "Windows 11 Enterprise Multi-Session"

Currently the devices are reporting with Microsoft Entra Joined, and Supplied the apps from Intune.

The Company Portal Application also does work as expected. But we realized that Company Portal app was deployed to "All Devices" with Intune. This makes the AVD also to see the Company Portal, With Considering User experience, it is preferred to not having the Company Portal app as visible, where as all the Policy / Apps continue as it is with Intune Model.

We have taken the following steps.

  1. Using the Filter (Tenant Level) to Stop the Installation of Company Portal, After the Uninstallation
  2. Used the Command - Get-AppxPackage -name Microsoft.CompanyPortal | Remove-AppPackage run with Azure Virtual Machine "Run Command"
  3. Uninstall App itself from the AVD
  4. All the above scenarios bringing the Company Portal App to the System after 15 to 30 Minutes of time..
  5. Created a dedicated app of "Company Portal" - Microsoft Store (new) and Progress with Uninstallation Only. With another Program with Company Portal (Install --> All Devices Excluded with Dynamic group of AVD)

    Based on your question description I understand that you want to Uninstall the Company Portal App.

    Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

    To uninstall the app successfully, make sure to remove the members or group assignment for install before assigning them to be uninstalled. If a group is assigned to both install an app and uninstall an app, the app will remain and not be removed.

    Sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center.

    Please check the dynamic group AVD devices and specific groups are correctly excluded from the Company Portal app installation policy.

    Check group assignments are not assigned to AVD devices or groups, and your configuration is with the desired user experience.

    Review App Protection Policies in Intune to ensure that there’s no configuration enforcing the installation of Company Portal on the AVDs.

    App Configuration Policy check that no settings are configured to automatically reinstall the Company Portal app.
