Distribution List Send-on-Behalf Issue Post Exchange Hybrid Migration

Hi All,

After we successfully configured the Exchange Hybrid Setup, we migrated selected users or mailboxes and that migrated users/mailboxes was able to send email on behalf of the distribution list. However, after migrating those users, they are no longer can send email on behalf of the distribution list. Also, the distribution list is already synced to Microsoft Entra ID/Microsoft 365. What breaks and how to fix it? Please see error below:

    After successful Exchange mixing, users cannot send emails on behalf of a list of communication groups.

    Since the error message is missing, could you please provide the specific error message.

    Here is my personal advice:

    This issue occurs because the attribute () is not currently written back to the on-premises Active Directory Domain Services. This is by default.publicDelegatesGrantSendOnBehalfTo
