Hello Team, I previously encountered an issue with sending emails from SQL Server where I received an authentication error due to basic authentication being disabled. The team suggested implementing OAuth 2.0, but I struggled to find proper articles or video references for this implementation. Can anyone please help with guidance on how to implement OAuth 2.0 for SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)?
I don't know much about OAuth, so I cannot help there, but I like to point out that you don't want to enable it for SSMS. SSMS does not send any mail. SSMS is just a tool to permit you connect to SQL Server run queries and perform management tasks through a UI experience.
And in this case, it is not really even an SQL Server issue. SQL Server just uses the OS to send mail, so this is more of an OS configuration issue. That is, you would get the same authentication error, if you tried to use a free-standing program to send mail over SMTP.

SQLServers database email does not support oauth only basic. Here are some options
