VM does not failover to secondary Availability zone after primary VM crashed

Primary VM has crashed, but since the VM is setup in 2 AZ's, I expect to connect to secondary zone VM automatically. That doesnt happen.

Please check if you are meeting all the requirement for a failover in case of a crash

You may please do a failover test and understand, if it meets all the requirements

I understand that failover will work when setup using azure site recovery. But I havent set up that
Instead I am trying to see what happens when a VM that is setup with infrastructure redundancy using Availability zone crashes?
I have setup a VM selecting availability zone option as 2. So that means my VM should be running in 2 data centers. When one crashes, the other should come up. Which is not happening. Or am I missing something here?

Hello Arjun,

When you put Azure virtual machine in availability set feature, VMs are protected from 'Azure hardware failure or software updates'.

Combine the Azure Load Balancer with an availability zone or set to get the most application resiliency
