Container App Job to Retrieve the Replica Name

Here's what I wish to build:-

I will deploy my backend jobs as Azure Container App Job. Whenever new message published to Service Bus, new replica will be auto created to process the message accordingly.

So 1 message -> 1 replica -> 1 job. And my job access to Cosmos DB. Inside my job process, I wish to retrieve / extract the replica name and keep it into the DB. And I wish to build a web page for end user to destroy / terminate particular replica based on the replica name.

I know Azure portal do provide the page to list out all the replicas and run history, however my end user will not have access to this, moreover I need to present more details about each job.

So here's my questions:

Is there a way for the job process to retrieve the replica name?
Is there a way to terminate / destroy particular replica programmatically.

Have you looked at the built-in Environment Variable CONTAINER_APP_REPLICA_NAME to pull the replica name of the container app.

Is there a way to terminate / destroy particular replica programmatically.

Refer to this article on how to grace shutdown the container apps using SIGTERM programmatically using different program languages.

My next question would be how to trigger the SIGTERM event, from my own page? any command I could send to terminate the replica?

You can use the environment variable CONTAINER_APP_JOB_EXECUTION_NAME to retrieve the job Name and to further save in Cosmos DB.

In your webapp you can call the ARM stop job execution API to stop the job execution by using the Job name. If there is a supported management SDK for your language used, they can use them as well.
