Good morning everyone,

Happy New Year! So I am completely new to the IT field, and was following along via YouTube series. I have created a VM, in this VM I created a Domain (which I may add is not a real one, I just made something up for the exercise. From the device that is the DM (domain controller) am I able to ping the domain ip address Domain Controller.png. When I go onto the other machine and try to connect to my domain. I am not able to ping the IP address of the domain, and also coming up with this error. "error code 0x0000251D DNS_INFO_NO_RECORDS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I am wondering if this is due to not being a accesible IP address, or domain.

Then from the other machine I am using to connect to the domain, agent machine.png, this machine is pointing at the correct, domain. Ping attempt.png. This is the error I am receiving when I try to attempt connection or assign this machine to the domain. Error.png

    Hello Brian,

    On the domain controller with the ip address 192.168.1.250 run the following commands and then attempt to domain join the machine.

    1. DCDiag /Fix
    2. Restart the netlogon service.
    3. Run nltest /dsgetdc:<your domain name> to validate DC resolution.

    A good test to validate that your DC can be resolved is run this command from any windows workstation/server.

    Please let me know if this helps resolve the issue.
