How to get Microsoft Teams to sync with Mac Mail and Calendar while using Custom Domain

I only have a Microsoft 365 subscription and don't have / haven't set it up on microsoft exchange (not sure if it's straight forward for a personal account). I use the same email address I have for M365 for my Mac Mail app (via Cloud+ custom domain). When I try to add this email to Mac Calendar as suggested and then select Microsoft Exchange, it gives me the following error: Unable to verify account name or password.

I think this is probably because my credentials aren't set up on Microsoft exchange.

Is there not another way via a CalendarDAV or something to achieve the sync between Mac Mail, Mac Calendar and Microsoft Teams?

Connecting teams to other email systems other than Exchange is supported. However I am unsure if Apple Mail fits the bill here. You can find more on Microsoft Learn where you can read up on what to do to integrate with Google Workspace. (https://zcusa.951200.xyz/en-us/microsoftteams/connect-teams-essentials-to-email)

However, If you configure Exchange Online, I'm sure you will have a far better experience. And if you allow it from a security standpoint, you will be able to configure your exchange email inbox and calendar in your Apple Mail App.

    Hi,

Setting up Teams sync with Mac Mail and Calendar on a custom domain can be tricky, but here's a workaround! Add your custom domain email address to your Mac accounts in Mail and Calendar. This won't directly sync Teams events, but you'll see your Teams invites in your Mac calendar. Remember, this works for invites and not existing Teams meetings.

    Hi @Shrikant Pasari

According to your case description, it is recommended that you configure your Microsoft Exchange account and log in again. Or you can sync Teams and Mac Hitachi by adding your Outlook account in the Mac Calendar application. Follow the steps below:

    • Microsoft Teams calendars are automatically synced with Outlook calendars. Please make sure you have the latest versions of both Outlook and Teams to ensure optimal compatibility.
    • Make sure you are logged into the correct Microsoft account for syncing between Outlook and Teams.
    • In Outlook, add Teams by selecting File > Account Settings > Add or Remove Accounts > Add > Microsoft Teams.
    • In Outlook, enable sync by selecting File > Options > Calendar > Add Teams meetings to my calendar and reminders.
    • Then, add your Outlook account to your Mac's Calendar app so that your Teams meetings appear in your Mac's Calendar app.

Alternatively, you can connect Teams Basic to your existing third-party email and calendar system. For example, select "Share via Google Calendar" and save it in Google Calendar. Then connect Teams Basic to your third-party email via Gmail. Please refer to this for detailed steps.
