Image (2).jpgEncountering an issue during the Device preparation phase on the Enrollment Status Page (ESP) while enrolling a Windows device into Intune. The error 0x800705b4 appears during the "Preparing your device for mobile management" step.

Context: The ESP tracks client installation, and the error occurs consistently during the device preparation phase.

Error Code: 0x800705b4

Troubleshooting Steps Taken So Far:

  • Verified that the device has proper network connectivity.
  • Ensured the device is properly assigned a valid Intune license.
  • Checked that the Autopilot profile is configured correctly.
  • Restarted the device and retried the enrollment process.

Despite these steps, the issue persists.

Has anyone encountered this error before? What might be the potential causes and solutions to resolve this error during the ESP process? Note : I tested the same device with a different tenant, and it enrolled successfully, confirming that the issue is not related to TPM.

@Karthikeyan Shankar Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

To clarify this issue, we appreciate your help to collect some information:

1.Please show us the screen shot about the ESP profile you configured in intune portal. If you configure to install apps during ESP status, it is needed to enter a higher value in the setting "Show an error when installation takes longer than specified number of minutes".

2.Please try to remove the device from intune and autopilot completely and restart. Then retry the enrollment process.

3.If this issue still exists, please try Michael Niehaus's script to see what happened during our Autopilot process. Check the event in the process to see if there's any finding.

Hi, when looking at the error and the information you gave... it looks a bit like a rough policy breaking the enrollment

Are you using prepro/white glove or just the regular user based autopilot enrollment?
