o1 model / OpenAI Service and the Assistants API

It was just announced that the o1 model is coming soon to the Azure OpenAI Service - that is great news, but as of right now, the Assistants API which is in Preview in Azure only supports the gpt4-o model version 2024-05-13 (source).. will this change when the o1 model is available in Azure? I can see o1 have a huge impact on file search and code interpreter capabilities

Yes, Azure Open AI team has now released the o1 models.

Regarding the availability. We need to wait for further updates.

The latest o1 model is now available for API access and model deployment. Registration is required, and access will be granted based on Microsoft's eligibility criteria. Customers who previously applied and received access to o1-preview, don't need to reapply as they are automatically on the wait-list for the latest model.
