I am currently working on a paper. I deleted "50","51" footnote but the rest footnote did not renumber. I've searched online for answers and found my version of word did not have the arrows it's no where for me to select renumbering: continuing, like the second picture show. Use payed version of Microsoft 365. Tracked changes are off, changes all accepted.

this is how my word look like

    Hi,

Could you find the footnote number?

If yes, please select the number and right-click on it and choose "Note Options".

In Word for Mac, you can access footnote (and endnote) options if you use the main menubar. Click Insert and then Footnote. For more, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-footnotes-and-endnotes-in-word-on-mac-and-ios-a58d1685-94f6-43f5-ba26-aa15aa62c6ed .
