Upgrading SQL server 2019 enterprise evaluation edition to SQL Server 2022 Standard

HI All,

I am planning to Upgrading SQL server 2019 enterprise evaluation edition to SQL Server 2022 Standard.

when I run SQL server 2022 standard installation setup upgrade edition step it is missing select instance name step and there is no option to insert the name manually.

Need help in upgrading the edition and version of SQL server.

    Are there more than one instance on the machine? It not, there is only one instance that can be upgraded. And, no, you cannot change the name of the instance when you upgrade.

    And, yes, if you run the upgrade, it will upgrade both the version and the edition.

    Hi @Newtojob

    Go to SQL Server Configuration Manager and ensure that the instance you're trying to upgrade exists and is running correctly. If not found the instance listed, it might not be properly installed.
