Hello,

I am facing an issue where I am unable to disable an active trial for Microsoft Defender for SQL in my Azure account. I have already turned off Cloud Workload Protection (CWP) and see that the Defender for SQL plan is marked as "off," but I still see a clock icon indicating that an ongoing trial exists for this service.

Here’s the situation:

  • I’ve disabled the relevant services, yet the trial status persists, and I’m concerned about continuing charges.
  • The trial is still active, but I cannot find an option to cancel or terminate it fully.

Could someone help clarify the following:

  • Why am I unable to fully cancel or disable the active trial for Defender for SQL?
  • How can I ensure that the trial is completely deactivated and stop any further charges?
  • Is there any additional step I need to take to fully cancel the trial, or do I need to wait for the trial to end naturally?

Any assistance or advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

Go to the Environment Settings in the Defender for Cloud section. Expand your subscription and ensure that all Defender plans are turned off. On this documentation you will find step-by-step instructions on how to reach Environment Settings. If you want to disable any of the plans, toggle the individual plan to off. The extensions used by the plan aren't uninstalled but, after a short time, the extensions stop collecting data.
