I just received a notification that a posted comment made a long time ago is under Moderator review. The comment in question has been deleted for "Code of Conduct" violations. I would like to be advised of the specific violation that prompted the deletion. In my opinion, the comment was inoffensive and its deletion was improper.
Since I am a moderator, I can talk a little bit about the process in general.

I have found that indeed very old posts can be reported. And in many cases for no good reason, and I approve those posts. But occasionally I agree with the report. I seem to recall a two-year old post that was reported the other day. When I looked at it, it seemed to be answering the question, but then all of a sudden there was a link to a business of some sort that had no relation to the question. That is a spam pattern, we see every now and then.
There are many moderators, and it is evitable that we have our bars on different level. Where I would have approved a post, another moderator would have deleted it.
For your actual post, I can't comment, since I don't know anything about the issue. I don't think it was me who deleted it - but I am not going to swear on it. If you have a link to the question, we can take a second look.

I was able to find the reason the reporter had quoted, and it was Bullying and harassment. (For all posts in Q&A, you can select Report a concern. When you do that there is a dropdown where you can select among a couple of reasons.)
In difference to quite of few of the reports I see, this one was not totally off the mark. It is not unlikely that I would have approved the post, if I had seen the report, but I am not going to overrule the decision of another moderator.
Bullying and harassment
How absurd!!! There were no personal attacks made on the Questioner, no offensive language was used, and it was suggested that the questioner review available reference material and return to Q&A with specific questions.
I take exception to this disposition and would like to escalate this to another level of review.
