Share a SharePoint Folder using the modern "Share" icon, will assign the group as direct access and not using a link

I have a Folder named "Projects" inside SharePoint online modern communication site. I select the folder > then i click on the "Share" icon, as follow:-

then i define a security group named PPM-Admins-Test to have Edit permission with an expiry date of 30/01, as follow:-

but this group was added as a direct access and not using a link with an expiry date, as follow:-

any advice? why the link did not get created and why there is not any expiry date?

    Hi @john john Pter,

    This is an expected behavior in SharePoint. After you click "Send" button in the Share window, the group will have direct access to the folder and people in this group will receive an email which says the folder has been shared with them. You can see the sharing link by click "Manage access" >> Links.

    These links will expire after the expiration date you set. You will no longer see the links in this window, and you will not be able to copy and share them.
