I have one vs 2022 blazor web assembly project. It stops automatically when i run it locally. Not able to debug blazor UI (razor.cs) pages. I set launch browser setting to false and so able to debug backened api code but still not able to debug blazor UI (razor.cs) pages. It was running fine till 2 days back, suddenly started facing this issue. I am stuck on this, any help will be appreciated

Hello @mtewary , Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. Do you still remember what you have modified these days? Did VS prompt any error message? Please first try to remove the hidden .vs folder and other project cache(bin, obj) files/folders in your solution/project folder and then rebuild => run the project again. If Visual Studio has been updated these days, please try to rollback VS to your previous used version and test again. Please also try to reset VS settings by running devenv /ResetSettings in Developer Command Prompt for Visual Studio 2022. Besides, does this issue appear in a newly created project? If it appears in a newly created project, please try to repair Visual Studio from VS Installer. Feel free to let us know if it works. I 'm suddenly having troubles with running in debug mode(F5). When I hit F5 or click on the Run button the application starts, but stops suddenly

I got the same issue. Wrote a simple WinForms application and I can see when I press 'F5' the application starts but immediately terminates. There is nothing in the application that is being done to cause the application to terminate as nothing starts until a Button is pressed.

Ctrl-F5 works fine.

I have removed the folders you requested.

I updated to the newest version of 2022 and have run devenv /ResetSettings.

Even rebooted my machine.

NO ERROR MESSAGE - This is a Visual Studio team screwup.

Even got to 2019 and created an application with only a button and "NO CODE" and debugger doesn't happen. App doesn't launch.

Went to 2019 and I am getting the same issue even when I create a now project with nothing but a windows form and nothing else.

Hello @Wayne Hamberg ,

Looks like the code and the project are correct, as the project can be built and run(Ctrl + F5) correctly. The issue seems to be related to the VS debugger.

Did this issue appear before on this machine? Or this is the first time that you try to use VS to debug on this machine?

May I know if the same issue appears on other types of projects, except the WinForm project?

I doubt that something blocks the debugger. Does running VS as administrator and debugging the project work? Are you using any extension, antivirus and security management software on this machine(If so, try to disable them temporary and test again, if possible)?

First time I have seen this issue. Been using Visual Studio since it came out in '96 using mainly C++ and FoxPro. Was there at the Microsoft launch.

Tried rebooting my machine. Tried running Visual Studio as an administrator. Made sure the folders/files had correct permissions. Don't know why I needed to do this as this is my personal home workstation and I am the only person using this computer.

Debugger launches as you can see it firing up but terminates before I can hit a breakpoint in the first line of code (program.cs or Form1.cs). Now I am getting the same problem with 2019 as well.

There has to be a solution. I am not the only person that has experienced this problem. Output window shows it exited with a '0' code so the app terminated naturally.

Only thing I have done is install the latest version of .Net.
