We are in process of trying to sort our mess of old print servers and potentially looking to move to Azure Universal Print. I am trying to gather details around this new technology does it work with the Linux CUPS server that we use for Production printing and our software for Label printing which is Loftware.

Azure Universal Print does not have native integration with Linux CUPS servers or specific label printing software like Loftware.

@Luigie Sababan Vendor drivers are not supported on the client with UP. The only driver supported for Universal Print is the Microsoft Universal Print Class driver. I suspect the Microsoft IPP Class driver for the latest version of Windows 11 also.

    Thanks

    Hi Support,

    I hope you're doing well.

I’d like to inquire if it’s possible to use a manufacturer’s driver, rather than the Universal Print driver, when deploying printers via Azure Universal Print. We have deployed Azure Universal Print and added our Xerox printers. However, we would prefer to use the specific Xerox drivers, as they provide essential features such as secure printing, booklet printing, stapling, and other advanced functionalities needed for our organization.

Is there a way to configure Azure Universal Print to use the Xerox driver for these deployments?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Best regards, Luigie
