Reserved virtual machine

Hi, I just purchased Virtual Machines Reserved Instance (3 year subscription) in Azure but I have no idea how to make it up and running as I cannot see it in my resources. Any Idea?

    Hi,
    I would suggest to read the official documentation on reserved instances:

    When you buy reserved instance you are not buying an actual virtual machine but actually buying something like license that is applied to a license. In order the reserved instance to be applied to Azure Virtual machine you must create Virtual machine with the same SKU and region as the reserved instance purchase. Also the VM needs to be in the same subscription to which the reserved instance was applied. Keep in mind that if you have more than one VM with the same parameters the reserved instance will be applied to one of them randomly. If you wish you can assign the reserved instance to specific resource group to scope it to be applied only to VMs in that resource group. If you wish to see the reserved instance resource itself you can search on the top bar reserved instance to find your reserved instance purchase.

    Once you've purchased the reserved instance, any running VM instances that match the attributes you selected qualify to get the reservation discount. The actual number of your VM instances that get the discount depend on the scope and quantity you selected.

    If you haven't yet created any VM instances, create one that matches what you selected during the reservation and that will then go against your reservation.

    Hi Josef,

    If you only bought the VM Reserved Instance the discount will apply to VM's that match the scope of the reservation you've made. So say you've got a Resource Group with a D-series VM in it and you've specified that VM Size in the Reserved Instance you've made it will be discounted matching that term.     Thank you all!! It confused me that when I was adding the new VM matching the parametres of the reserved instance, it shown me the full price. That was really confusing, I'd expect the price shown to be the same as reserved one (if the reservation has not been used already). Now I know how it works, thanks again.
