Please run CMD as administrator(search CMD in Windows Search box, right-click, Run as administrator), use cd C:\XXXXX
command(for example, cd C:\MyDownloadFolder
) to enter to the folder where the update package is stored. Run vs14-kb3165756.exe /uninstall
command, click "Repair" button, see if it works.
If you get warnings about "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable packages", try to uninstall the existing one from Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program(find the program, right-click, uninstall). After that run above command and repair again.
If the VS installation program provides more details(log file), please kindly share the detailed error message here for further check.
