How to manage or update my Azure App service Domain setup/configurations

Hi,

I have created Azure App service Domain and delegated to public DNS zone, everything was working fine, then I have deleted the DNS zone, and created again from inside my Azure App Service Domain windows "Manage DNS records" option.

Now my records created in the DNS not propagating to public /internet, Ican't open my website from internet, because DNS not resolving the ip address correctly, I can browse my website with ip-address without issues.

My App service domain mapped with NS (name servers) other than the NS (name servers) showing in azure DNS zone.

when I do DNS lookup using the NS name servers mapped in my DNS zone, the resolution is working fine, but when I try it without specifying any name server the name resolution failed.

and as a result I can't resolve my DNS records publicly.

I don't see any option in Azure to manage and update name servers in App service domain,

as a workaround, I have added the name servers that is showing in App service domain to the DNS @ record, but resolution this doesn't help..

Any advise how to fix..

Note: That updating the name server in Azure is not supported.

And here's one Approach you can try with DNS domain delegation.

Updating nameservers is required to fix any delegation issues, and this requires access to registrar DNS management page, which is not possible from inside Azure.

Updating the name server should be done on DNS Registrar where Azure is just hosting his domain, so it won't me possible

Question: How to manage my Azure app service Domain? Form inside Azure portal this is not possible, I need fix or update the name servers assigned to my azure App Service domain to match the name servers showing in Azure DNS zone.

Answer: No, this is not the correct approach when you open managed DNS Records it will take you to Azure DNS these is by default and if you search for Managed app services domain then whatever nameserver present in the DNS zone are the ones being used by default you cannot move it.

As per the following Record Sets, please let me know what 8 more further records are there, and if there is an edit icon, what happens when you try to edit it.

Note: If the DNS is operating well, why would you want to upgrade it?

Q. Is your DNS propagation operating correctly?

Q. Is this working? When you add a DNS record, is it propagated?

If it is working, I recommend that you do not touch anything.

And please let me know if the records you're adding are propagated or not.

Hi Ganesh Patapati,

Please note that : the name servers assigned in azure App Service domain are different from the name servers in azure DNS, see below screenshots

nslookup only work if I assigned the name server listed in my DNS server, see below

I tried to add domain name servers to my DNS @ NS record, but it didn't help

nslookup to my record using Azure DNS assigned name server is working fine

nslookup to my record using Azure domain assigned name servers failed

I really appreciate your support. I see the only option to update nameservers list in Azure app service domain, which is not possible..

if no more input on this , please proceed to close this ticket.
