How do I add a second domain name to my primary domain using the Azure DNS?

I have my domain and DNS zone set up on Azure. I just bought a .net extension for one of the web sites. Now, there is no clear explanation on what to do now. I have used the existing nameserver of the primary domain. When I added the custom domain name to the azure active directory, it gave me a new TXT entry, which I added to the existing domain.

In one direction, the articles and videos I have seen suggest I add a CNAME entry, but Azure DNS won't let me add a "@".

Can someone let me know what is wrong, or suggest a working solution?

There is nothing that a screenshot can provide that my explanation already has.

I am trying to find out how to add domain.ca to one that is domain.net. I want both to point to the same location. I have created a DNS Zone for domain.net using Microsoft Azure. I have added the domain names to through 'Custom Domain Names" on the Microsoft Entra ID.

Now, Azure won't let me create a separate CNAME record, and I added the TXT reference to the existing record hoping it would be seen, but it doesn't look like it. On the web site, the new domains just show as unverified.

I did get this one thing inside custom domain name. To use domain.ca with your Microsoft Entra tenant, create a new TXT record with your domain name registrar using the info below. My registrar is with Godaddy and it is using the nameservers used by domain.net.

I have tried lots of different keytword searchs to find a solution to this. So far, no luck. Can someone direct me to a site that will show me how to do this properly?

When I try to create a CNAME record, I get this error when I try to create "@":

Each label must only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and/or dashes. Each label should be separated from other labels by a period. A wildcard ('*' character) is permitted either as the single character in the name, or as the first label in the name. An empty value, or a single '@' character is permitted for record sets at the zone apex (except for CNAME record sets).

Yes, you cannot add a Cname record at "@" level.

NOTE: It's not possible, this is called a root domain, you cannot have a root domain at azure Unless and until you are using azure services.
When you are using your own websites, then it won't support adding a record at root domain level you can only add an "A" record at root Level.

You can only a create an "A" record at "@".

In other words, there is no way to point the new domain extension to the primary domain without an IP address. Using an A record directs the new traffic to the web site, which I guess was the point.

Thanks, I think. It is a solution, just not the one I expected.
