Mail client still connects to Google after migration to Exchange Online

Hi All,

A company had mailboxes hosted in Google and then migrated to Exchange Online.

Everything has been running fine since then except one thing - when profile is set up a mail client (desktop Outlook, mobile Outlook app or any other iOS or Android mail client) by default tries to connect to Google until manual set up is selected.

outlook tries to log in to gmail 1

outlook tries to log in to gmail 2

outlook tries to log in to gmail 3

This all doesn't make any sense as all DNS records were re-pointed from Google to Exchange Online.

Why it could be so?

    Hi,@X-Box-11-2021

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, I suspect there may have been an error in your migration process. Did you add the TXT record for the DNS hosting provider, if yes, you may need to wait 72 hours.

For more information about how to migrate Gmail to M365, Microsoft has provided official documentation:https://zcusa.951200.xyz/en-us/exchange/mailbox-migration/migrating-imap-mailboxes/migrate-g-suite-mailboxes
