How to connect Skype to a Azure Bot

I try to connect Skype (NOT Skype for Business!) to a Azure Bot. It is shown as available. The bot generally works (tested on Web and Telegram). Trying to add Skype leads to an error:

Oops, something went wrong at our end

Sending one of our engineers to fix it. Give it a couple of minutes and try again.

According to https://zcusa.951200.xyz/en-us/azure/bot-service/bot-service-channel-connect-skype?view=azure-bot-service-4.0,** it mentioned it has to be an existing bot previously connected to Skype.

So, the existing bots that are published and were/are previously connected to skype can continue to use the skype channel. If you have created a new bot and published it then you would not be able to use this channel with your bot. Thanks!!

I got it working with another workaround I got from MS Support:

copy the "Add to Skype" URL to the clipboard

insert the URL into the Skype app as a message to myself

click on the URL in Skype
