Unable to close personal account because of an Azure directory that I can't leave.

I've been trying to close my account, but when I get to the "Make sure <email> is ready to close" page, the "Next" button brings up a pop up saying that "You need to leave your work organization", with a link to "Go to my work organization". I click it and sign in, only to be met with an error:

AADSTS50020: User account '<email>' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Try Websites' and cannot access the application '8c59ead7-d703-4a27-9e55-c96a0054c8d2'(My Profile) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

Apparently I am for some reason in an Azure directory or something. I never used Azure, but I log onto portal.azure.com, and I'm met with another error:

Limited or No Access You are not a member of this tenant and do not have access to this directory or any subscriptions/resources within. Your interactions will be limited to directory switching or passthrough scenarios only. Click 'I acknowledge' to continue to as a passthrough user without any access to the directory. You can click 'Sign out' to sign out of this session.

I click "I acknowledge" and proceed to navigate to "Portal settings | Directories + subscriptions". Sure enough, I see I am a "Restricted Tenant" in a directory called "Try Websites" with a domain "trywebsitesnowhotmail.onmicrosoft.com". Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing I can do from there to remove it.

Looking online, I found people suggesting "https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations/leave/8c59ead7-d703-4a27-9e55-c96a0054c8d2", or "https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations", or "https://myaccount.microsoft.com/", or"https://myapps.microsoft.com/", but all of these give me an error saying "You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead."

I've tried logging out of all devices, different browsers, no luck.
