All backups fail with "replica is inconsistent"

Backups are... bare metal and vmware guests. All fail with the error "replica is inconsistent".

Event log for a vmware backup:
The replica of <server> on Mvcenter> is inconsistent with the protected data source. All protection activities for data source will fail until the replica is synchronized with consistency check. (ID: 3106)

DPM encounterd error from VMware Disk SubSystem. Server - <server> ErrorCode - 13 (ID: 33620)

BMR error looks to be: Non VSS Datasource Writer on production server

Backup setup is a server running MABS with an iscsi connection to storage.

Tested file level backups and they do succeed. VMWare and baremetal backups fail.

Looking for additional troubleshooting steps to take for this.

    @Deron J White Thank you for sharing the details.

    Please check on your MABS Server if you are able to see below mentioned directory.

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Azure Backup Server\DPM\DPM\Bin

    If the directory is present then request you to please delete it and try the backup again which should fix the issue.

    If you are not able to see the directory then request you to please share the DPMRA logs from the MABS Server which will help me to identify the cause so that I could suggest you a resolution accordingly.

    Also, I have never seen BMR error: Non VSS Datasource Writer on production server.

    So, request you to please share a complete error so that I could better assist you on it.

    This issue is resolved. The issues were all network related.

    Solution: The issue was related to network.
