Hi,

What's the ETA on ASR VM replication support for RHEL 9.5?

We are trying to figure out a long-term strategy for update management for RHEL with ASR enabled:

For example, if ASR replication was enabled on RHEL 9.4 and VM was patched to 9.5 now, would it break replication?

All major OS update will also break replication even if ASR is supporting the target version.

Currently, even though Microsoft documentation states otherwise, RHEL 9.4 does not support ASR because it runs the unsupported kernel version 5.14.0-503.15.1.el9_5.x86_64. ASR is functional only with RHEL 9.3-gen2 as latest version, which uses the kernel version 5.14.0-362.24.1.el9_3.x86_64. The problem is that running dnf update automatically pulls the latest kernel version, resulting in an upgrade to an unsupported kernel. This behavior breaks ASR replication, as confirmed through testing.

Question to Microsoft: Could you please clarify this issue and provide a solution or workaround to ensure ASR functionality with RHEL 9.4 or what is recommended approach to deal with kernel patching.
