having an issue with configuring sharepoint search. Trying to configure it for 2 app and search server.

https://www.sharepointdiary.com/2017/10/create-search-service-application-in-sharepoint-2016-using-powershell.html

After configuring using the Script above, I am getting an error in the search status.
The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component.

I already tried the recommended steps.

    Hi @Mark Abellanoza ,

    Welcome to Q&A forum!

For the current situation, let's do some troubleshooting first:

    1. "Installed the latest CU December 2023. (Attached screenshot)" means you installed the latest CU in December 2024, not 2023, right? If not, install the latest CU.
    2. Are there any Windows updates that need to be installed? If so, install them.
    3. Go to Central Administration -> Manage Web Applications -> Select the web application you use -> Service Connections -> Make sure the Search Service Application is selected.
    4. Go to Central Administration -> Manage Service Applications -> Make sure the Search Service Application and Proxy are started.
    5. Go to Central Administration -> Search Administration Page -> Check Administrative status and Search Application Topology are running.
    6. Go to Central Administration -> Manage services in this farm -> Make sure the Search Administration Web Service, Search Host Controller Service, Search Query and Site Settings Service, and SharePoint Server Search are compliant.
    7. Go to Central Administration -> Manage Services on Server -> Make sure Search Administration Web Service, Search Host Controller Service, Search Query and Site Settings Service, and SharePoint Server Search are started
    8. Go to Windows Services -> SharePoint Search Host Controller and SharePoint Server Search 16 are running.
    9. Open 'ULS Viewer' (download if not already installed), filter logs for 'Category' containing 'Search'. And then look for any errors or warnings that provide more specific information about the issue.
    10. Open 'Event Viewer' on the SharePoint search servers, go to 'Windows Logs' -> 'Application' and 'System'. And then look for any errors or warnings related to SharePoint or the Search Service.

    Hope these can help.

    Happy New Year!
