I cannot use Azure with my account and I'm stuck. I have access to portal.azure.com without a directory or subscription, so I can't use anything. Cannot access support nor can I sign up for free tier.

This is the error I get when I try to open up the support panel on portal.azure.com. I believe this is because I am not part of any directory and do not have an active subscription.

The portal is having issues getting an authentication token. The experience rendered may be degraded.
Additional information from the call to get a token:

I cannot sign up using signup.azure.com because when I try to verify my phone number using a text or a call immediately after clicking on the button I'm greeted with another error:

We’re unable to validate your phone number
Phone validation is required to confirm your identity and complete signup.
Reenter your SMS verification code, or try again with a different phone number.

    Here are some additional information:

    You can use any phone number for verification as long as it meets the requirements. The phone number that you enter for verification isn't stored as a contact number for the account.

    • A Voice-over-IP (VoiP) phone number can't be used for the phone verification process
    • Check that your phone can receive calls or SMS messages from a United States-based telephone number.
    • Double-check the phone number that you enter, including the country code that you select in the drop-down menu.
    • If your phone doesn't receive text messages (SMS), try the Call me option.

    Make sure to select the right country code in the drop-down and enter the phone number without the country code.

    One option might be to call Microsoft's Global Support: Global Customer Service phone numbers

    Maybe they are able to help.

    I've noticed a couple of questions/threads related to this issue in the past. But none of them gave an answer how to fix this or if it was fixed at all.
