I have figured out that SUSE Linux SAP priority is calculated based on per-core licencing. But why is that for 8 cores and 32 cores price is the same. Look at my calculations bellow :alt text

Suse linux Enterprise for SAP Priority is billed based on number of cores as per the below points.

    • VM's with 1 to 2 Cores
    • VM's with 3 to 4 Cores
    • VM's with 5+ cores

Thsts why you didn't see any difference in license fee for 8 cores and 32 cores.

When i verified with 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 cores, I am able to see the difference in the price as mentioned below.

In the below statements x is cost difference shown in pricing calculator for SUSE (with SAP priority license) and centOS

    • For 1 and 2 core VMs X is the cost.
    • For 3 and 4 core VMs 2 X is the cost.
    • For all the remaining (5 + cores) 2.5 X (approx) is the cost.

This aligns with your example as well. only the 4 core VM has less cost. Remaining all are 5+ cores. They have the same cost.
