Azure Internet Speed slow on N Series

I created an NV6 VM and tried the 1 GB download test using www.thinkbroadband.com/download. I was able to complete the download without any interruption.

Edit: After further investigation, large downloads can compete with the OS for IO throughput on VMs. If you are running into issues with larger downloads/transfers, look at your storage configuration and be aware of which drive you are writing to (as VMs have both persistent and temporary storage).

• Are you using multiple applications to try and download from the same source? (Could it be an issue with the source of your download?)
• Is this something that only happens at peak hours? (Could it be an issue with your ISP?)
• Are you able to segment the download into smaller chunks?

Accelerated networking is a feature designed to improve network performance, including latency, throughput, and CPU utilization. While accelerated networking can improve a virtual machine’s throughput, it can do so only up to the virtual machine’s allocated bandwidth.
