I just upgraded my VS 2019 Community to version 16.11.2. Now i can't open SSIS "Edit Script" button

My SQL Server Data Tools Version is 16.0.62107.28140
SQL Server Integration Services - 15.0.2000.170

Clicking the button below no longer open Script Editor

This approach did not work for me with VS 2022, even though the message pops up saying to do this. Even uninstalling and reinstalling VS 2022, Integration Services Projects, and VS Tools did not fix it. I am still searching for solutions.

Hi @Victor Ivantsov ,

It is a known issue said here.

Sometimes this product or Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2019 may be somehow deleted during VS instance upgrade. If your existing SSIS projects cannot be loaded, please try to repair this product via control panel.

If VS doesn't pop up when clicking on "Edit Script", please try to repair VSTA 2019 via control panel. We've reported this issue to VS team. Sorry for any inconvenience.

You need to install a latest version 3.15 of the SQL Server Integration Services Projects extension for VS2019.

There is a known issue where this issue occurs - the fix is to repair the Visual Studio for Applications install. This is often seen after patching Visual Studio - which seems to overwrite something that the script editor needs.

If repair doesn't work then try uninstalling "Microsoft .Net Core SDK 2.1.520" from appwiz.cpl then run Visual Studio Repair. See: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/couldnt-install-microsoftnetcoresdk21/1323625
