Hi all community,

We have a problem on each enterprise domain controller with 2019 serve version.

When we want to launch "Settings", the window just flash and disappear immediatly.

So Impossible to go on settings panel and his depedances.

We found this error in event viewer : DCOM error 10010

"The server windows.immersivecontrolpanel_10.0.2.1000_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy!microsoft.windows.immersivecontrolpanel did not register with DCOM within the required timeout."

Name : Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM

Guid : 1B562E86-B7AA-4131-BADC-B6F3A001407E

EventSourceName : DCOM

We tried different thing who people suggest for Windows 10 without any success.

All services needed are OK, Local Service has good right on DCOM AppID "ImmersiveControlPanel", permissions on AppID registrykey too.

We try to rename ImmersivePanelControl folder on C:\Windows and launch sfc /scannow --> Same result.

Also try to rebuild AppXManifest.xml with powershell, change and check DCOM Security Properties...

Before installing DC features, all was OK and if we try to launch Settings Panel on an other Server none DC, it works.

We tried to looking for something in GPO but only Default Domain Controller Policy was attached on AD OU, and we never change it.

However, when i looking for Guid : {1B562E86-B7AA-4131-BADC-B6F3A001407E} on registry base in "Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID", i was unable to find this key. I don't know if this point can give you a way

Thanks for your help and answer

I know it's an old thread but if someone has the same problem, found out that it was because the Windows user was part of both Administrators and Guests groups

    Hello @Jimmy Lafleur

System file check is a utility built into the Operating System that will check for system file corruption. The sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible.

I suggest you to refer the below link on how to perform System File Checker and check if it helps.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e

If you are not able to repair some files after performing an SFC scan, I suggest you refer to “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log”. Under the section “Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)” to repair the corrupted files after performing an SFC scan.

    Hope this resolves your Query!!

    Hi Limitless,

I make a System File Checker but without results. There is no problems listed.

I try many things again, like rename C:\Windows\immersiveControlPanel and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SessionInfo\1\ImmersiveShell, launch with admin privileged after that sfc /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth,
Change Permissions on DCOM System File,

Always same problems, on each Domain Controler.

If you want, you will find bellow DSIM and CBS log with my OneDrive link (original sizeare bigger than limit upload file), maybe this can help you to find a way :

    Hi Jimmy,

Did you find a solution to this issue or why the issue startet?

One of our customers has the same problem, and we have tried everything as you had - only effects Domain Controllers (even DC´s that have been DC-Promo to member server).

I'm hoping you have resolved the problem and kindly will share the solution with me.

    Thanks.
