Downloading and installing .NET Framework 2.0 results in a not a windows application error

Most of the time this issue points back to a corrupted download.  Redowndownloading the package to a different directory will normally do the trick.

The place to download the framework from:

https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa731542.aspx

You will need to make sure that you download the right architecture that matches your machine.

I need to install microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 and have been trying for months to do it. It always seems to be installing until the end then says that it can't finish because of something about a 64 bit system. I can't do anything with pictures and now my printer needs it. This is a new computer, Dell Inspiron one all in one touch screen. How can I get this to work?
