8 Minute Demo - OIS-SCOM Extensibility Kit 2.0

It has been quite a while, huh?

My apologies, I have been SUPER busy. Hopefully I can make that up to all of you with the next couple posts. :)

ORCHESTRATOR RC UPDATE (11/02/2011)

CodePlex Links:

NOTE: The rest of this post is unchanged, and can be referenced for OIS 6.3 (documents and old IP) or Orchestrator (Video).

Today’s post is all about an “upgrade” to the originally posted “8 Minute Demo - OIS-SCOM Extensibility Kit 1.0”.

As you might have imagined, I have updated the CodePlex Release: https://opalis.codeplex.com/releases/view/50751

Don’t worry, if things look different, that is because they are. I have renamed both the deliverables. The .DLL and associated .CS files now include MORE FUNCTIONALITY! and the User Guide includes information on two more objects.

The following is a very brief “8-Minute Demo” of the new functionality (please refer to the existing video and blog post for the existing functionality, as this video only covers the new stuff).

enJOY!

That is how runbooks work, they run under the context of the service account (unless a Security Credential Tab exists for the activity). Activities created with the Orchestrator Integration Toolkit (previously QIK) do not have the Security Credentials tab, so a different form of alternate credentials would need to be implemented (often in the Integration Pack configuration in the Options Menu). This example for the OpsMgr Extensibility simply uses the default credentials for the runbook. You can invoke a runbook with specific Security Credentials in the latest version, so that may be useful functionality for you (look for the Security Credentials tab on the "Invoke Runbook" activity). For this, you would create a sub-runbook that contained the object you would like to run in a different context and use the "Invoke Runbook" activity, configured with alternate Security Credentials.

Hello Charles, thanks for your work. However, it would be great to change account used to run your objects. At this time, your both objects are using account of logged user which is not really useful, or maybe I missed something.
