Sessions and Speakers
The Graphical Web - Fostering Creativity
The session will discuss new features of the Web platform that enhance the graphical or expressive power at the hands of developers. The session will briefly cover the basics of Web graphics (HTML, CSS, Canvas, SVG) and how they can be blended. Then, it will present new graphical features such as CSS filters, CSS shaders and CSS compositing. Finally, the session will discuss new CSS features for richer, more graphical layouts, enabled by CSS regions and exclusions.
Vincent Hardy works for Adobe on Web Standards. Vincent is working with the CSS working group, the FX task force and the SVG working group. He currently works on CSS shaders, CSS regions, CSS exclusions, and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). Prior to joining Adobe, Vincent worked at Oracle on graphical, interactive, and animated user interfaces in the field of business intelligence, helping make large sets of complex data visually understandable to help users navigate data sets more easily, detect trends, or find anomalies.

Dart is a modern web app development platform, complete with a familiar language, rich libraries, an Editor, and most importantly a compiler to modern JavaScript. This is exciting and something I love about the big tech companies, even if they're competing viciously, they're still willing to come together for the greater good.Anonymous
