Announcing Compatibility Certification of SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 SP1 with Dynamics AX 2009 SP1

Dynamics AX In-Market Engineering Team is proud to announce the following compatibility of released version of Dynamics AX with SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 SP1.

Required Hotfix with KB Number: 2836535  This KB is included in RU8 found here.

The System requirements of Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 have been updated.

    AX 2009 SP1 is currently not supported on Windows 2012 Server. Also SharePoint 2013 is not supported on AX 2009. The testing for SQL 2012 for AX 2009 SP1 was performed on Windows 2008 R2.

    Hi Bertrand,We are planning to use Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 with SQL Server 2012 and we would like to use SQL Server Always On Availability on Windows server 2008, but according to your information this is not posibble. Am I right?Lorant

    The System Requirements document for AX 2009 mention that Rollup 8 and hotfix 2836535 needs to be installed. Is Kernel Only (Binary Only) Rollup 8 enough or is the complete Rollup 8 with code upgrade necessary to get SQL Server 2012 support for Dynamics AX 2009?

    Hi, Are you now working on approving Windows 2012 server with Ax 2009? If yes, when you are expecting that such compability will be approved by MS? Are you also working on approving SharePoint 2012 with Ax 2009?

    Thanks for response. But I would like to know if MS is working on making Windows Server 2012 compatible with Ax 2009.

    It is my personal opinion, but I don't think there is any plan to support Windows Server 2012 or SQL Server 2012 Always On Availability Group for Dynamics AX 2009 SP1. Bertrand

    I guess there is no hotfix available for Dynamics AX 4.0? Because of this we can't go higher than SQL Server 2008 R2.
