Announcing Support for SQL Server, SharePoint, and Office 2013 Service Packs as well as Visual Studio Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio Online

We are happy to announce support for the following products.

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP2 CU2 or later with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Dynamics AX 2012 R2 CU7 and Dynamics AX 2012 CU7
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2010 SP2 with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Dynamics AX 2012 R2 CU7, and Dynamics AX 2012 CU7
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2013 and Visual Studio Online (Team Foundation Version Control) with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3

    Is Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 compatilble with MSSQL Server 2012 SP2?
    (Ive only found AX 2009 is compatible with MSSQL Server 2012 SP1)

    Beware of applying SQL 2012 SP2 with AX2012R2CU7 when using DIXF. Preview source file crashes DIXF Service, and the only way to resolve is to ONLY install integration services with 2012 sp1.

    I can replicate the issue in two different environments.....and then re-install integration services with sp1 only and it works.

    Sorry, can anyone confirm if the CU2 for SQL 2012 SP2 would fix the DIXF issue?

    Well here is an update if anyone is interested. It does appear the SQL2012SP2 CU2 fixes the issue with DIXF 'preview source file' crash.

    Regarding compatibility between AX2009 and Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010,2012,2013,2015 and/or Visual Studio Online is there any plan to have a compatibility for AX2009 as well?
    Considering that the product goes out of extended support only in 2021 installing TFS2008 is not a "nice" option.

    I suppose that a compatibility pack for Visual Studio 2008 for the newer TFS versions (like it is available for Visual Studio 2010) would be enough for the integration or another option could be the compatibility for AX2009 and Visual Studio 2010.

    Is there any plan to go in this direction? We sometime get some customers already having AX2009 implemented without Version control and want to bring them to use a version controlled development. Although implementing TFS2008/TFS2010 as a new installation is possible, better would be if at least the Server side can be a most recent one considering that TFS has also its life cycle.
