HTC Touch DIamond - is this the perfect device for you?
The HTC Touch Diamond is currently getting lots of focus and attention in the Blogosphere. If you haven't yet had a chance to see this device in the flesh then you will be surprised when you do get to see it.
The first thing that struck me was that it is considerable smaller than I had first imagined. (see the image below for comparison)
Coolsmartphone (where I got the picture above from) have been doing a daily post on their experiences with the Touch Diamond. They have been posting some excellent videos too!
Check out their final Day (Day 7) HERE
It always worries me when I see small devices that the performance will be not be great. It looks like the Diamond might be the exception, if you've seen the specifications it is one of the best specified devices and Solopalmari.com have created a performance comparison of the Diamond vs 50 other Windows Mobile devices. You can see the results (in Italian) HERE
So will this be the perfect device for you? Personally I've always preferred 12-key or QWERTY devices rather than touch screen however I did use the HTC Touch Cruise for a month and really liked it. The Diamond could be the perfect upgrade.....
Of course if I do need the keyboard then T-Mobile Germany have just announced the MDA Vario IV which is the Touch Diamond with a keyboard. This was codenamed the HTC Raphael.
Decisions....Decisions.....

Crikey - HTC are churning out the devices, aren't they! So I wonder how the Vario IV compares against the Vario III? I love my Vario III at the moment. I wouldn't want to lose any functionality.Anonymous

The "raphael" looks much better. Pretty much identical, except slide out Qwerty (TYTN style) Better hardware, better battery. and only 17mm thickAnonymous

From what I have seen/read/heard It's as close to perfect as HTC has got so far, for me at least.Anonymous

any news if they plan a Shadow style layout as well, with a slide down 20key (T20?) keyboard? That would be perfect for me.
