Microsoft a leader in x86 Virtualization Infrastructure: Gartner’s Magic Quadrant

WS08R2-HyperV_h_rgbmagicquad

Hello and welcome to a brand new shiny new financial year. I don’t normally post this kind of stuff but it’s kind of a big deal so I thought I would share. Gartner has recently published their 2011 Magic Quadrant for the x86 Server Virtualization infrastructure and Microsoft is listed as a LEADER. Very cool indeed. You can check out the full report here.

That's pretty cool. Not really surprising, as I have been expecting something like this. It was a reason I completed my MCITP for Virtualization. As I knew it would get legs eventually, and might allow me to convince employer to send me on VCP one day to cover off VMware's way of doing things.

Wonder how much MSFT had to pay Gartner to make that move?

WMware didn't have to pay at all, I'm sure :-)
