questions

Peter and I have both been doing a bit of travelling recently.  Between STL and NYC, I got Peter to make me a cup of coffee using beans I brought back from Meshuggah.  Over coffee we discussed the various reactions you get when someone finds out you work for Microsoft.  Oddly enough the list is pretty short.  In no particular order:

(1) Do you know (have you met) BillG?
(2) Have you been to BillG's house?
(3) Are you rich?
(4) Can you fix my computer?

(The answers, btw, are Yes, Yes, No, Probably Not.)

When geeks find out I occassionally get “Oh, how do you like that?” or “What do you work on?”

I dunno, I find it amusing.

I get (4) whenever I say that I'm on a Computing degree course. You should get one of those 'No, I will not fix your computer' t-shirts.

    So... what's BillG like? :)

He's pretty smart. I was part of a large group of interns who met him, so I cannot really say what he is like. He was how we all expected him to be.

I think item 4 is a given for anybody that finds out you do anything dealing with computers.

No, No, No, and No ;-)

BTW, the beans are almost gone (thanks!)

Back to my stockpile of illy now...
