Advanced Copy

Yesterday, I received my advanced copy of the new edition of Designing Electronic Forms for SharePoint and InfoPath. This is a 1000 page book which does exactly what the title suggests. It's a guide on how to use InfoPath to design electronic forms, both for SharePoint and the InfoPath client. The first part of the book starts with the basics of form design and going into some more sophisticated elements, such as data connections and logic, in a manner suitable for users who are familiar with Office but not deeply technical. The second part of the book delves into more advanced topics, such as configuring SharePoint for forms and writing code in InfoPath forms.

It's a book that can be useful whether you're new to InfoPath or familiar with the 2007 version, whether you're just looking to build some simple forms or wanting to build some advanced applications.

Failing that, it would do very well as a blunt instrument.

The book is available for pre-order on Amazon now.
