Please Ignore the blog construction

Time to whip this blog into shape.  I really like what some of my co-workers have been up to. I'm trying to decide if I want to keep up the 3 column view.  The first thing I've done is add my own "login" link to my blog. My link, unfortunately, doesn't know if you are logged in, but if you get to my blog and you want to long in you can click that and it will take you back to my blog instead of the default site.

If you guys are able to write your own blog skins (actual skins, not just CSS overrides) then you probably only need to add <CS:DisplayUserWelcome runat="server" /> to the Skin-DisplayTitle.ascx in the blog skin.

My tip for the day. :-)

If you add the http:// to your login ReturnUrl, you can get the one redirect warning rather than the multiple warnings for every navigation....

I meant the whole http://blogs.msdn.com of course.

Nope, just overrides. I would LOVE to have that added though.

I guess I disagree that there should only be a few templates for the blogs. I'd like to retain a little bit of individuality despite working for "the borg".

Regarding user chosen skins... Thats an interesting suggestion for the Community Server guys. I know they are listening to some of these conversations. It also opens of the question of how much control of the content viewing should I have as a content creator. Personally I use RSSBandit. It supports theming of the RSS so I get what I want. As far as knowing that your reading... I know a few people are reading and I'll personally keep posting regardless of how many (or few in my case) people read this blog since I generally use it as an online information storage medium for me to collect my thoughts on different subjects. :-)
