Migrating to Server 2012 R2 Jumpstart

Hey Everyone!

I am finally getting to present a Jumpstart event on the 24th of July!   I will be doing this from Redmond, so it’s completely unfriendly to the Australian time zone of course, but hopefully some of you might be able to catch it after the event.

The registration page is here or alternatively you can head over to https://aka.ms/MigrWSR2 if you prefer those nifty little URL’s.  Here’s the abstract:

Out with the old! Migrate from Windows Server 2003/2008

IT Professionals are faced with a number of unique challenges with the release of a new operating system version. Upgrade paths can often be confusing, and the challenge of moving existing services from versions that cannot be upgraded can carry significant risk. Windows Server 2012 R2 provides many options for upgrading and migrating that the IT Pro can use to ensure seamless transition to this new server platform. Join our latest free Jump Start, “Migrating Legacy Windows Server to 2012 R2 and Microsoft Azure,” on July 24, 2014, from 9am–1pm PDT, to explore these tools. Learn how Windows Server 2012 R2 can ease your transition, not merely in upgrading earlier versions of Windows Server, but also ensuring that your key services can be migrated in an efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner. You can also get a look at how to migrate your on-premises workloads to Microsoft Azure virtual machines to create a truly hybrid cloud environment.

I suspect they have all long forgotten the promise to post the various scripts online. I'll just have to read them from the videos. If they posted them, I haven't found them yet.

Were the post installation scripts ever posted online? I looked for them at Kyle Rosenthal's blog and didn't see them there either. Are these scripts mentioned anywhere in the MS Technet articles?

    Thanks.
