Following up on your feedback

We have been taking note of your input on the new UI - positive and negative - and we are looking at changes we can make in the short and longer term to address the feedback.

The first pain point we heard was the missing "New in Downloads" list, and we got something together to address that in about a week. Hopefully you have found it and are using it. We are working on an RSS version as well right now as well.

We take your feedback seriously and we want to provide a positive experience, not a negative one. I may come back with some more specific questions or clarifications of the feedback.

    I still cannot find Checked/Debug builds of the following: Windows Server 2008 Windows XP SP3 (older checked/debug builds are visible). I tried to use the Concierge feature to ask, but the Concierge feature is broken now too.  After typing my initial question, an error message said to keep the information below 128 characters, so I obeyed. The only answer from "system" was a link to the main MSDN downloads page, which I had already searched several times before asking the Concierge.  I was next in the queue with an estimated wait of 0 minutes 7 seconds, so after several minutes of waiting at 0 minutes 7 seconds, I gave up. I opened the Concierge window again to ask, trying to add that I already searched but only non-checked versions were shown.  My first word was "Can't", so the Concierge feature truncated my input to "Can" and discarded 95% of my input. Tried a third time with no apostrophes.  Same garbage as the first time. No checked builds, 100% broken Concierge feature, and a 50% broken ordinary download feature. I bought a personal MSDN subscription because I like programming, but it looks like I could make a great contribution in testing.  Microsoft really needs testers, and a lot of customers would benefit from testing.

    The new UI is painfully. I am looking for the Windows XP mui, and have not found it! Can you help? Please.

    I really don't like the new UI, it's so tough to find out the software and download, please UPDATE!!!!!

    The new navigation "thingy" (as somebody called it :) ) is not Silverlight. We evaluated implementing a Silverlight version in the release and while it was not nearly as jumpy, it had other significant drawbacks so we opted to wait until a later time to re-assess a Silverlight implementation. As far as Windows Server 2008 Checked / Debug builds - it doesn't look like the Product Group has released those yet for subscribers. I don't know any anticipated timeline, but do expect that they would be made avaiilable to Subscribers like other OS checked/debug builds are. As far as the Chat availability, I just confirmed that it is currrently working, but am sorry you were unable to sucessfully connect.

    I find the new download section very annoying. Why would you be able to drill down into a product that you are not able to download?? I want the old download section that only shows what I am entitled to download please....

    I'd love to be able to use the UI (new or old), but until MS finally finds out what's wrong with my paid subscription (renewed it in january, and STILL can't use it, because of 'technical issues'). Please fix whatever is wrong with benefit number 640506, or issue a refund already, and THEN work on UI. Thanks

    Clift: We will be adding a visual indicator as to what items are available for download and which are not very soon.  This feature was cut temporarily from the active feature set when we converted to the new system. Chris

     Luis Hevia:  The MUI files are posted under Windows XP and then set your language drop down value to "Multi-Language".

    When are they going to have History on downloads so we can see what contents has been recently added to the MSDN Subscribers web site.   The old site was much better.  I noticed they added a link to recently added contents but this still fails to have the same value we had with the old site.
