Windows Live Writer Beta released

I think it's only appropriate to congratulate the Windows Live Writer team on the release of their Beta by posting this entry using the Windows Live Writer Beta itself.

I've been using their internal release candidates for several weeks, and I have to say, it's the best blog posting tool I've ever used. This was clearly built by folks who know and understand the blogging space intimately -- little surprise, since it's developed by the team that wrote the excellent Onfolio research tool and RSS aggregator that Microsoft acquired earlier this year.

  I'm sorry, but I have to call you out on this one:  "it's the best blog posting tool I've ever used.".  
  
  That statement is either a lie, or you have never used any of the good blog posting tools out there.  Come on, if you want to be taken seriously as a blogger be honest with your readers.
  
  This new Writer team has a good start, but it is not even beta ready, IMO.

  Well, it is my opinion. :) I have used most of the popular tools out there and this one is certainly one of the best (if not the best). You're right, it's a beta, so it has bugs and the team has some work to do, but it works near-perfectly for me.
  
  The "post in the style of your blog" feature is one feature I love (perhaps because it works well for the blogs I use it for -- I read that it has some problems on some other blogs). And of course, the plug-in model is great.
  
  So, it does most everything I want from a blogging tool and a few things I didn't know I wanted, and it does it seamlessly.
  
  So, that's my opinion. :)
  
  If you have some tools you prefer, feel free to post links -- I'll check them out.

  I'm sorry, but I have to call you out on this one:  "it's the best blog posting tool I've ever used.".   That statement is either a lie, or you have never used any of the good blog posting tools out there.  Come on, if you want to be taken seriously as a blogger be honest with your readers. This new Writer team has a good start, but it is not even beta ready, IMO.

  Well, it is my opinion. :) I have used most of the popular tools out there and this one is certainly one of the best (if not the best). You're right, it's a beta, so it has bugs and the team has some work to do, but it works near-perfectly for me. The "post in the style of your blog" feature is one feature I love (perhaps because it works well for the blogs I use it for -- I read that it has some problems on some other blogs). And of course, the plug-in model is great. So, it does most everything I want from a blogging tool and a few things I didn't know I wanted, and it does it seamlessly. So, that's my opinion. :) If you have some tools you prefer, feel free to post links -- I'll check them out.
