HPE EdgeLine 300 installation

This section describes how to install Defender for IoT software on the HPE EdgeLine 300 appliance.

Installation includes:

  • Enabling remote access
  • Configuring BIOS settings
  • Installing Defender for IoT software

A default administrative user is provided. We recommend that you change the password during the network configuration.

Note

Installation procedures are only relevant if you need to re-install software on a preconfigured device, or if you buy your own hardware and configure the appliance yourself.

Enable remote access

  1. Enter the iSM IP Address into your web browser.

  2. Sign in using the default username and password found on your appliance.

  3. Navigate to Wired and Wireless Network > IPV4

  4. Toggle off the DHCP option.

  5. Configure the IPv4 addresses as such:

    • IPV4 Address: 192.168.1.125
    • IPV4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    • IPV4 Gateway: 192.168.1.1
  6. Select Apply.

  7. Sign out and reboot the appliance.

Configure the BIOS

This procedure describes how to update the HPE BIOS configuration for your OT deployment.

To configure the BIOS:

  1. Turn on the appliance, and push F9 to enter the BIOS.

  2. Select Advanced, and scroll down to CSM Support.

  3. Push Enter to enable CSM Support.

  4. Go to Storage, and press +/- to change it to Legacy.

  5. Go to Video, and press +/- to change it to Legacy.

  6. Go to Boot > Boot mode select.

  7. Press +/- to change it to Legacy.

  8. Go to Save & Exit.

  9. Select Save Changes and Exit.

  10. Select Yes, and the appliance will reboot.

  11. Press F11 to enter the Boot Menu.

  12. Select the device with the sensor image. Either DVD or USB.
