Business value
Business apps often use data from more than one source, which means that it must be easy and secure to connect the apps. With this update, you can use an administrative account to simply, and securely, set up email logging that will track email exchanges in Exchange and transfer that data to Business Central while using modern authentication methods, such as OAuth 2.
Feature details
Connect Business Central and Exchange securely with modern authentication using only an administrative account.
New Business Central tenants can simply start using modern authentication methods from the July 2020 update.
No action is required at this time for existing and upgraded Business Central tenants if the Azure Active Directory tenant has the legacy authentication security policy turned off. For more information, see Disable Legacy Authentication.
If you enable this security policy or Azure Multi-Factor Authentication, follow these steps:
- Open the Marketing Setup page.
- Choose the Enabled field to disable email logging.
- Choose the Enabled field again to re-enable email logging. When prompted, specify the credentials of the administrative account that you want to use.
